Who says It's too much makeup?

Lots of people say wearing to much makeup can make you looks like Ronald Mcdonald or you're just hiding the real you behind the mask (it's time to stop all the negatives stereotypes) I know i wear too much makeup but i just can't help myself. I love makeup and how the 27 different chemicals looks on me :) Don't get me wrong, i love myself and i think i'm beautiful even without makeup. Just because i put on lots of makeup doesn't mean that i hate myself or the way i am naturally. It enhance what i already have. I love being able to transform my style just by adding some red lipstick or smoky eyes. It makes you look versatile. In my opinion, its just another way to express yourself and portray what you feel at that time. I think our face is like canvas that overall can relay a very strong message to others.

For now i leave you with the quote from Tyra Banks "I love the confidence that makeup gives me".. ;) in love and light.. XX

chasing harry winston

I just finished reading Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger. This book is about 3 girls living in New York City who are about to turn 30. Emmy is the girl who wants to marry and have children but is in a serious relationship that is going south. Leigh, is living the perfect life working for a publisher as a book editor. She has the perfect celebrity boyfriend that everyone else wants. And Adriana is the Brazilian, slight accented, wild party girl who loves sleeping around. They all realize one day that their current situations aren't working and they need to change it up since they're officially going to be old soon. Adriana makes a deal to find ONE guy and settle down with him, while Emmy decides to take on "Tour de Whore" and sleep with a guy from every continent. Leigh doesn't really make a deal but just tries to find herself and what she really wants.

The only problem I had with the novel were the gender issues. Now, I knew what I signed up for – chick lit means that relationship woes will be a major theme of the book. What is more, I don’t mind either the notion that someone enjoys sleeping around or that someone else would like to settle for life with a person of their dreams. However, what bothered me were 1) the idea that all women have expiration dates, before which they must find a wealthy husband, or they will have wasted their lives; 2) as follows from this, the idea that getting married is an absolute must; 3) the idea that a woman who doesn’t want to commit herself to just one relationship is a “slut”. Indeed, Emmy’s description of her attempt to have affairs with men from different continents as “Tour de Whore” really annoyed me.

Apparently they're making this into a movie too. I'll admit I'm curious to see what they change in the movie adaptation and not to forget the main actress. But anyway, that's that. If you like reading about single girls and their relationship woes and need a light escape, this may be for you. Otherwise, maybe not.
